CIRCUS TUTORS
Casual, or part-time (ongoing)
Location: Tāmaki Makaurau / Auckland - Penrose
The Dust Palace is seeking experienced circus tutors to coach any of the following recreational circus disciplines:
● Vertical aerial apparatus (advanced)
● Tumbling/floor acrobatics (beginner - intermediate)
● Partner acro (Intermediate - advanced)
● Straps (intermediate - advanced)
● Duo trapeze (intermediate - advanced)
● Dance (all levels)
ABOUT YOU
The foundations of circus are built on inclusivity, celebration of diversity and above all creativity. We’re looking for someone who has a genuine love of the performing arts, a belief in the social benefits of participation in the arts, and the transformative power of circus!
We’re looking for tutors who:
● Are passionate about recreational circus and the benefits that it brings to students and the community
● Can champion and embody our Dust Palace Culture Code
● Have an inclusive and welcoming teaching style
● Are able to uphold excellent health and safety practices in the space
● Can plan and deliver cohesive and well-structured classes
● Have a high level of skill and understanding in the circus disciplines they will teach
● Be confident using progressions and a variety of cueing techniques to suit diverse students
● Have undergone a reputable teacher training, apprenticeship, or similar
● Are able to work with adult and youth students
● Have excellent time management and communication skills
● Are available evenings and/or weekends

We will add you to our database, and be in contact about any suitable projects which come up.
Please be advised that this is not a casting call for a specific piece of work, but it is an opportunity to make yourself and your skills known to our team.
Emerging artists are also very welcome to apply as we sometimes do have suitable projects and would love to support you as you enter the industry.
