The spider’s web / te māwhaiwhai, delicately created out of a substance so strong it still baffles science, is the very first environment baby spiders experience. It is their nest and their nursery.
Te pūngāwere / the spider, spins her web with both deftness and creative flair. We hope to inspire our young people to make te māwhaiwhai their strength and their creative space, that they may learn that high up there, that translucent yet unbelievably strong māwhaiwhai, is their home.
Te Māwhaiwhai is the creative home space for our little climbers at The Dust Palace! It’s a youth company that meets weekly and prioritises performance opportunities and creation skills.
To be part of the company you need to be between 10 and 18 years old, committed and eager to learn, good at working with other people, have a love of circus, theatre and performance and be interested in expanding your creative skills.
