I work as an actor, producer, filmmaker, aerialist and costume-maker in film and theatre.

I'm mostly interested in physical theatre and experimental film as the possibilities in and between those two art-forms.
As a producer, I have experienced quite a range; theatre, film (both short and long, narrative and experimental), festivals and events. I currently produce 'Making Love to the Audience – modern vaudeville' providing a forum for new and experimental theatrical or filmic ideas/adventures, and am working on 'Fete Macabre', a celebration of all things deathly which will feature artists of all genres and from all over New Zealand.

I have made nine experimental films, the latest of which, “Blue Tide, Black Water” was funded by Screen Innovation Production Fund and has won awards internationally. I perform experimental film works with Sam Hamilton as The Parasitic Fantasy Band. We are touring western USA in April this year.
I also produced, wrote, acted for, and edited a no-budget feature film “Motu”. For the fun of it.

My physical theatre practice began with a degree of acting (?!) from UNITEC School of Performing and Screen Arts. I was further inspired by Beth Kayes and Co. Theatre Physical to explore the adrenalized possibilities of physical extremes, resulting in circus training on trapeze, rope, pole and tisu (silks) and in acro-balance.

I intend to make aerial theatre.

I have been working with costumes and costume design for over ten years, starting out with over 100 costumes for my schools entry to the Smokefree Stage Challenge in 1997. I have dabbled in clothing design and make most of my own clothing but am more attracted to the fantastical possibilities of costume. In the last four years, I have costumed eight plays, the last of which being “How Charming is Divine Philosophy”, a Superhero film, and a dance film, “The Moth” by Campbell Farquhar, to name just a few. Most recently I created a character costume for Sky City and costumed aerial performances for Cross St Carnival and Lady Fest Auckland.
